Day trip to Brighton

It was time to feed the need to be beside the seaside & grab some sun so Nic & I took a bus down to Brighton early saturday morning. Spent the day chilling out around the pier, local shops, art gallery & museum, watching a fantastic sunset over the ocean and nice restaurant for dinner.

Rocks & pebbles - makes a bit of a difference to sand!

Fish, chips & mushy peas on the Brighton Pier!

Amusement park rides at the end of the pier

Of course the water was freezing!

Weekend in DUBLIN, IRELAND!

Worked half day on friday & went to dublin for the weekend - less than an hour flight from London! Turned out there was a big footy match on sun arvo Ireland v France so it was really busy with loads of french around. Stayed in a hotel about 10 mins bus ride out of town toward the airport, everywhere else was full! Loved Dublin - there was a great atmosphere, everyone was very friendly... managed to fit in a bit of sightseeing, some shopping, a bus tour of the city, a tour of the Guinness Storehouse and a reasonable amount of nightlife!

O'Connell Street - main shopping street

Monument of Light (60 metre knitting needle)

Monument of Peace - giant cross of water at top end of O'Connell St.

Tram!

River Liffey (looking upstream)

Trinity College

Dublin Castle

The Temple Bar - this was where I spent most of friday night!

Temple Bar area by night

Did a tour of the Guinness Storehouse!

Claimed a pint of the 'black stuff' at the top where they have a great 360 degree view of Dublin.

Looking up through the centre of the storehouse - 7 stories high.

Phoenix Park (seen from top of the city sightseeing tour bus)

More snow :)

Gotta love this stuff - it was really heavy one night during the week & kept snowing all morning - these photos are taken just after getting out of bed to find it not only had snowed heaps but was still snowing!

Soccer Australia v Denmark

Another live international soccer match in a few months! Nic & I went to see a friendly match between Australia & Denmark in London at QPR in Shepherd's Bush on Tue night after work. As usual a great atmosphere amongst a bunch of crazy aussies... unfortunately we lost 3-1 but it was a good game with a few very close shots at goal including one disallowed.

Jimmy Barnes of all people sang the anthem
